- Born in the village of Parang Puting, Kota Bharu, Kelantan in June 1948. Educated at Parang Puting National School (1955-1958), Merbau English School (1959-1961), Sultan Ismail College (1962-1968), University of Malaya (1969-1973), University of Reading (1974-1978). Appointed a lecturer at Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (1979-1982), promoted to Associate Professor in 1983 and Professor in 1991 and Professor Emeritus in 2008.

Is Lalan posing for the camera or he is in pain? he looks very badly injured. I saw the x-ray pictures and the fracture looks bad ....says Dr. A. Latiff. Tina said he is going to be hospitalised, why is he recuperating at home. Ayah baru sampai at Liverpool.
Lalan is posing for the camera..he is not in pain at all. It's 7am now and we are going to the hospital. The surgery is at 9am. Will keep you updated through sms and i will upload more pictures soon. ;) enjoy liverpool!
